Jeannette's Journey

I graduated from high school in Odessa, Texas with high hopes of becoming the next "Katie Couric." So, off I went, to Texas Tech, to study mass communications. Fast forward a marriage and a baby later, I became a deliriously happy stay-at-home mom for eleven of the sweetest years of my life. It was during that time, that I discovered my holy discontent- the breakdown of the family- and my passion for family ministries, through teaching parenting classes and volunteering in children's ministries. When I finally went back to work, I served as the director of K-5 children's ministries right here at Live Oak. After two years of getting paid to do my dream job, God called our family to Wichita Falls.

There, He equipped and allowed me to grow and serve greater numbers and a more diverse population of couples and families through a staff position in children's ministry and as a marriage workshop facilitator for "Twogether In Texas," the largest funded healthy marriage initiative in the country. God, then, relocated our family back to Lubbock, in August of 2009. As luck would have it, guess who was looking for a director of children & family ministries...?

Home Life In A Nutshell

Married 17 years my devastatingly handsome husband, Randy. We are borderline- obsessed with our four children: Alexa-Rae, Bryce, Zack and Bree... all of whom-have taught us more about God's heart for His children, than I suspect we ever would have understood, without doing life in a family, with these precious souls.
