MVP 2010 Family Sports and Art Camp
MVP Sports and Art camp is all about connecting FAMILIES to CHRIST and to EACH OTHER, through high quality sports and arts instruction. Mom and Dad, go to camp with your children! Choose from amazing sports and arts instruction...water games, juggling, basketball, photography, culinary arts, theater, volleyball, and more...and participate as a family. Steve Winger, the Juggler for Jesus, and Cactus Cutie, Blaire Elbert will be featured nightly. Then head over to the after party each night for swimming at the Falls, family talent show, s’mores, and movies under the stars at Vintage Township!

*Performing Arts-
1.Theater:"I'd like to thank the academy..." Live Oak Community Church's drama director Kristy Barnett instructs families on developing their gifts in the performing art
2.Juggling: you know you've always wanted to learn... professional juggler and evangelist Steve Winger will teach the circus art of juggling
*Visual Arts-
3.Photography-say cheese! Johnnie Thurston, a photography student at Texas Tech, teaches families the art of capturing life and the beauty of God's world on film.
4.Art- local artist and gallery owner Pauline Mills and TTU student artists will show us how to use glass, paint, and furniture to express our faith, values and creativity in our homes.
5.Culinary Arts-chef Drew from Market Street will cook up some fun on the grill with children and families, as he shows us how to eat delicious healthy foods and entertain our guests on a budget.
*Sports-
6.Tennis:coach Laura Worley and her talented team will your family tennis - the sport you can use to connect with each other for a lifetime. BYOR - bring your own racket.
7.Volleyball-Coach Vann, of Monterey High School, and his family will teach families the game of volleyball- a fun way to play and connect with family members old, young and every age in between.
8. Basketball- Swoosh! Coach Hall will share his love of basketball as he teaches families new drills and skills that are sure to make your family a stronger team
9. Water Play-"Marco ... Polo!" Water games is a great way to stay cool and have fun this summer. It's taught by the Ruiz family- two of whom are award winning divers
10. Pre-k --veteran pre-k Sunday school teacher Sherry Mathews combines water sports, cooking, and art as she teaches us how to integrate faith into our conversations and activities with our preschoolers

Itinerary for Saturday the 17th (one hour earlier)
4:30-5:00pm, arrive at Live Oak Community church and get checked in

6:00-7:15pm sports or arts instruction

Nightly After Parties!!!
Thursday- 8:30-10:00pm...swim party at The Falls. Games 2 U will be bringing their laster tag, hamster balls, and hube mobile video game setup.
Friday- 8:30-10:00pm ...movie under the stars at Vintage Township "the Commons" park (bring a blanket or lawn chair). Games 2 U will be bringing their laster tag, hamster balls, and hube mobile video game setup.
Saturday- 7:30-9:00pm...hot dogs/talent show at Vintage Township
Frequently Asked Questions
Q. What ages are invited to MVP family?
A. Parents and children (limited enrollment available for ages 3-5) and a greater number of spaces for children having completed k-5th grade.
Q. Can I attend a class with one child and my spouse or adult relative attend a different class with another of my children?
A. Yes! Be sure to fill out one form for EACH class. If your entire family is participating together, fill out one form. If one parent and child(ren) are participating in one sport/art, and another parent and child(ren) in a different sport/art, fill out TWO (2) separate forms.
Q. Can my children attend without an adult?
A. No. Our goal is to create an event that connects families to Christ and eachother.
Q. Can I invite other families to attend MVP?
A. Yes! Absolutely!
Q. Do we attend the same sport or art class each night?
A. Yes.
